- Alzheimer's Association
- This is the home page of the national Alzheimer's Association. There are links to local chapters as well as excellent information and resources.
- CaregiverMN
- This site features Care Pages, a list of resources on topics relevant to caregiving, including caregiving basics, family dynamics and how to choose the senior living communities. It also has a calendar of events for caregivers in the Minneapolis/St.Paul metro area.
- Caregiving.com
- This site includes information on the six stages of caregiving, has online support groups and features gifts for caregivers.
- Carelink
- This site is a service of the Care Providers of Minnesota and has a thorough search engine of senior care communities in Minnesota.
- Medicare
- This is the national government's official website on Medicare. It can be a little intimidating but it does have an index of all the official Medicare documents and pamphlets. These can either be downloaded or ordered free of charge. It also has a "Nursing Home Compare" section in which a nursing home's latest survey results can be reviewed as well as other valuable information.
- Medicare Rights Center
- This is the site of the Medicare Rights Center, a non-profit group that advocates for those who have Medicare. It has many helpful sections and referrals to sources for help with Medicare.
- Metropolitan Area on Aging
- This is the site for the Twin Cities MAAA, which is one of fourteen area agencies funded by the Minnesota Board on Aging. It is also the sponsor of the Senior Linkage Line, a toll-free help line. It is easy to use and has many useful areas, including information on home safety, insurance counseling, housing options and community services.
- Minnesota Department of Human Services
- This is the direct link to the alphabetized index of senior services offered by the state. There is information on everything from the Elderly Waiver program, to Medicaid, to the state nursing home database and every state program in between.
- National Association of Geriatric Care Managers
- This is the home page of the only professional association for geriatric care managers, also known as Elder Care Consultants/Managers or Senior Care Consultants. They maintain a national directory and have a search engine so one can locate a care manager in one's own area.
